CKEditor includes an image button so that images can be added to articles. However, to add an image, a user must type in the URL to the image. There is no browse facility.

But, CKEditor does allow third-party plugins to hook into the image properties window and show a browse button.

Remove from Marketing List using WebApi

You can manage adding and removing contacts from Marketing Lists in JavaScript.

Reviewing the WebApi documentation showed that this can be done, but there was a contradictory article on an SDK page which stated that removing a record from a marketing list does not work in the WebApi and I had seen some posts also stating this to be the case.

I checked this and it seems that removing a record from a marketing list is supported in the WebApi.

Rich text editing has been an ask of Dynamics 365 for a long time. Now, such controls have appeared in the Unified Interface but only in a limited way.

In my moderately brief review, I see the position as this:

  • Rich text controls are available in the Unified Interface for Dynamics 365 Online version 9.0
  • They are only available for the Content field in Knowledge Articles and the Description field in Emails

As far as I can see it is not possible to have the interface show rich text controls for any other field.

Duplicate Detection Rules can use lookups

I recently configured a duplicate detection rule that used a lookup field as the match field. I surprised at first that duplicate detection did not appear to work when adding duplicated records. I had checked that the entiy was enabled for duplicate checking and published the rule.

However, after a while, I found that the duplicate detection rule did work. So even if the rule has a status of published (which means that all the matchcodes have been generated) there might be a delay before it works.
